«The Boat» is a mix of documentary and fiction. It shows an accident where a person has fallen overboard. The scene unfolds under the full moon at night and continues into the early morning. We watch a woman’s repetitive attempt to save herself, and we follow her through stages of panic, fear and hypothermia. The scene is a set up but the performance is real -when fatigue and cold takes over, the fight becomes real.
